Title: Monuments
Size: 100x120 cm
Annabelle Dalby
In the series, Monuments, Dalby continues her investigation into the nature of the personal archive by photographing the bookshelves and mantle pieces of friends and family. Taken on a large format camera, these incredibly detailed images reveal the very personal decisions we make about the placement and importance of our possessions. Appealing to the voyeur in all of us, Dalby’s work examines the way in which we create our own identity and how objects and images can enhance, distort and fictionalise this.
