Veronika Spierenburg
Spierenburg’s recent series is comprised of portraits of her classmates taken from above. The viewer is lifted above the heads of the subjects and given a rare bird’s eye view of the world below. Humorous and fun, the work questions our sense of identity and how this changes when essential facial information is removed.
Artist Background
Spierenburg has an MA in photography from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where she graduated in 2006. She was awarded the Red Mansion Art Award and is represented by Man & Eve Gallery. She lives and works in London.
